Hi all, I have an older Apple TV, the first model that had voiceover. I have it connected to a TV through HDMI. It works fine through the internal lousy TV speakers. When I connect my sound bar to the TV using the TV optical output from the TV to my sound bar, voiceover becomes very choppy and inconsistent, to the point to that sometimes I hear no voice over output at all for the currently focused menu item. I had this same problem with a different set up with the same Apple TV, and thought it was a problem with either the cable or the AV receiver I was using. Has anyone experienced this? I am now believing there is a problem with my AppleTV, and I should just go buy another one. But I would sure hate to get stuck with $100 loser. Still, it is hard for me to believe that this problem with optical outs from a TV to a sound bar or anything to do with optical out on the AppleTV would cause a problem. Surely, you can't just use it with the HDMI and your TV speakers only? Mary
