Hello Annie, If VueScan doesn't launch Readiris automatically, and you've set the file type for the scanned image to Tiff, do Command-i on any tiff file and set it to always open with Readiris. This should fix that problem.
The other problem with Readiris 12 is that the Detect Orientation preference does not stick when you close the app. This is a very serious bug and I'm reporting it to the developer. Another irritation is that Command-r no longer works to start the OCR. There's a button to click instead. Once again, I'm reporting this to the developer as it's a retrograde step.
