Hi,

No, you shouldn't create a new network. New networks that are added will be
placed at the bottom of the list. Your Mac looks at that list, and they are
set in priority order according to their position in the list. So, when your
computer awakens, it activates the WiFi controller and goes through that list
looking for networks it can join. If all the ones above yours are not anywhere
to be found, then it will usually pick yours. I have seen it though, where
things get a little confused when your network is far down the list or if you
have multiple networks with the same name but different passwords.

So, it looks like you'll need to attempt to drag your network to the top of the
list if you're unable to delete the other networks. I've found the dragging
and dropping in this area to be inconsistent so it may take some effort to do
this. That's why I suggested removing other networks. If you know the
passwords for the other networks, it's easy to re-add them again when you come
in contact with them. remember that new ones get added to the bottom of the
list.
