The textclass.lst should not be touched manually, that is one problem, the PDF thing another. What
you describe is somewhat strange as I developed some PDF-view stuff together with a Vista user, so
it should work. I expect that former installed LyX-versions cause this problem.
Could you try to
1. uninstall LyX 1.5.1 completely
2. reinstall LyX 1.5.1 using LyXWinInstaller
3. test if it's now working, if not
4. uninstall LyX 1.5.1 completely using the uninstaller in the Start menu entry
of LyX
5. reinstall LyX 1.5.1 using LyXWinInstaller
When this doesn't help, I have no further idea. Does it work when you log in as
admin under Vista?
