I am glad that this is at least considered as a bug. This problem has
annoyed every new lyx user I know so it is on the top of my lyx FAQ
list.

Along the same line, is there any way to prevent a user from using a
environment in the wrong context? For example, inserting a marginal
note in a float figure is not allowed in latex, but can be done in
lyx. Maybe we can disable certain environment/menu items dynamically.
(I think this is true at some level but I do not know the details.)

Please allow me to re-iterate again here my expectation about lyx:
there should be no latex error from normal user input, which means
anything except for ERT and preamble manipulation.

I have been playing wih lyx1.4.0 cvs. I am not sure what are the main
featues planned for 1.5.0 but the feature set has been more than
enough to me. (My most-needed feature is revision-tracking which is in
1.4.0). As long as we can focus on easy installation,
auto-configuration, stability and all these userfriendlyness-related
problems, there will be no reason for SWP.

Cheers,
Bo
