The permissions look fine actually.. are you able to run pdflatex on
a regular .tex file and generate a pdf file? Secondly, do you have
the pdfpages package? "kpsewhich pdfpages.sty" should tell you if
it's installed. And thirdly, you may want to check the pdfnup script
and see what the call to pdflatex does -- this is towards the end of
the pdfnup file; though I'm guessing pdfnup is not the problem...
hopefully one of tests will shed some light on what's going wrong..
