Error: /usr/local/teTeX/bin/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/pdflatex (file pdftex.cfg): ca nnot open config file ==> Fatal error occurred, the output PDF file is not finished!
Obvious qn. but.. do you have read access to the pdftex.cfg file? You may need to change permissions on this file.. I was able to reproduce the above error by changing the permissions on the pdftex.cfg file so that I did not have read access to it as myself...
