Here is how much of TeX's memory you used:
It appears that the bounding box info is not output in your case. This suggests that your preview-latex package is installed incorrectly.
Here is what I have installed: $ ls /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/preview prauctex.cfg preview.sty prshowbox.def prtracingall.def prauctex.def prfootnotes.def prshowlabels.def prcounters.def prlyx.def prtightpage.def
Note the prlyx.def and prtightpage.def files.
