Dear Angus, the default MAGNIFACTION has to be set to roughly 5550 instead of 1000 and it works. Can it be that it is a problem with the pnmcrop on my Mac? Since the bitmaps generated are huge --- and even scale bad when the MAGNIFICATION is being used! Best, -Jan
