For those of you on windows and using LyX 2.4.2, can you check whether
your LyX user directory at (something like)
C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\LyX2.4
contains the folders tabletemplates and xtemplates? I'm on windows 10.
I am on Windows 11 and I don't have them either.
I came across this problem when trying to change the default table style for my current
document: Document > Settings > Text Layout > Table Style > Default
Style. Changing the setting from Default to any of the options listed, clicking
OK and then trying to insert a table either by menu or toolbar button causes an
immediate SIGSEGV. I can cure the problem by copying the tabletemplates folder
from the LyX > Resources directory to my user directory.
I don't get a SIGSEGV, but no table is inserted and I get the message 'Command
disabled'
If I understand, the problem is simply that these folders do not exist
in the USER directory. So when we try to save something there, it fails.
Users: You should be able to solve the problem by simply creating the
two directories in question.
Eugene, I guess that the installer should create them, much as it
creates the layout/ dierctory.
