I have the folder xtemplate in the directory mentioned above here with LyX 2.4 on Windows 11, but not the folder tabletemplates. > > I don't see those too, but I have no idea what they do. I read somewhere that C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\LyX2.4 is the equivalent to $HOME/.lyx in Linux systems and that this is the right place to put local additions such as scripts and (x)templates. I came across these folders when testing a gnuplot xtemplate https://wiki.lyx.org/Tools/GnuplotInLyX on Windows.
