Well, after arguing (furiously?) against keeping ancient frontends
that stifled our productivity because of their shortcomings, it is
difficult to say that we should adapt to what qt can do :)

I was just talking about a compile time option (it could maybe even be a runtime option with rtti). I never said that other frontends (gtk) should be restricted to ucs2.


I do not know enough of unicode to understand whether/why we really
need ucs-4, but this decision should be independent of any frontend
capabilities.
