Incredible! Two days more or less off-line and the whole LyX universe
has changed!
Yes, spell checking works for me - and I think you also managed to use
the spell checker in the mean-time. Unfortunately, the location of the
dictionaries is hardcoded. Aspell provides several ways to define the
location (e.g. environment variable ASPELL_CONF). However they all seem
to work with the aspell command line tool only :-(
Now I know you're a competitive guy so have a look at
