I guess it is not too hard for an xforms guru like you, as the necessary stuff is already there in preferences. I was planning to add custom colour support to characters long time ago, which is a breeze if you have the rgb values. The colour picker could do us a favour in some more places (maybe you could even include it to xforms itself). Regards, Juergen.
