I remember having used a « Save as default » tag in the File, Edit or Layout menu, I don't find it any more. Is this the reason of misunderstanding ? I guess this replaced the default.lyx by the current template: if the function in on the deskset, you don't need any more to know where the file is located :-) -- Jean-Pierre
