I think I documented it un UPGRADING, but of course it should be in
herbert's tips...

This switch is a pref setting, so it is not very useful in this
situation. It should be a per document setting. And then I am not sure
it is the real fix.

Dekel> Yes. Why this has to fixed now?

I did not want to fix it in 1.1.6 because I did not want to annoy
people without getting feedback first. Then I sent a message to
lyx-devel explaining what I was going to do and why. Then I did the
change in october. And now 7 months later you are surprised? Sorry,
but I did not have enough cash to afford an ad on CNN. I even added
you as cc of the bug one month ago, but got no comment.

Seriously, I understand your frustration. However, I have yet to see a
decent solution to this problem. It is just a matter of getting used
to it. But of course this breaks some 1.1.6 documents, so maybe
something else has to be done.

Anyway, I am not in a position to do anything about it now and won't
be for next month. Since this has to be resolved for 1.1.6, I propose
that either john or lars get to decide what to do with it after
listening to the different factions.

I am somewhat pissed off that this issue is only discussed seriously
_now_ (I did have some extensive discussions with herbert on that,
though).
