Well they will have a binding like "special-char normal_space"
so you can bind it to whatever key you want!

I don't understand this one what is different between the old presetation
of footnotes and the new ones? Maybe the button is painted a bit different
but that was just a decicion we made and we could have done this for the
old version to. So I don't understand what you mean.
