That makes sense. I think I might add that to my converters as well. I understand the idea of having the setting as a document setting since it changes LaTeX code. But I wonder if most users would prefer a preference. Would it make sense to have a preference, perhaps under Output > General? If this would be considered, I could make a poll on lyx-users to get a better understanding of how LyX users use forward search and whether they like the document-specific setting or would prefer (additionally?) a preference.
