I did deliberately not mention the contents of the patch itself in this thread, please put it aside for a moment. The problem I was discussing is a process problem: We all agreed that Scott is the release manager for 2.2.0. We also agreed that he has the power to set the commit rules until the release is out. The current rule is that any non-trivial change needs a +1 by another developer (the only exception being documentation and translations). If you do not agree with this rule, then you need to persuade Scott to change it, but until that is done the rule needs to be followed. We cannot require Guillaume to go through a review process until he has a +1 for each part of his patch, and let you put something in without having a +1. If we would allow this, then this would cause a lot of frustration. Georg
