Hope this way people may see more easily if this would be an

i think that people already think it would be cool feature. the
problem is that we need the patch which is assimilated to 1.6 source
tree. have you been working upon this?

Looks fantastic indeed, and I'm sure the users will love it.

However, it comes pretty late in the 1.6 cycle. I think we should
really think about stopping to put in new features (if only little
ones such as outliner extensions) before even daring to think about
releasing 1.6.0.

It's not my decision, but I'd rather see a complete feature freeze
some time before the 1.6.0 release.

I agree. This is too late for 1.6.0 but we can make it work for 1.6.1
or 2 without problem as there is no format change involved. So,
Tommaso, if you adapt your patch to current trunk I'll work toward
inclusion in 1.6.x.

Actually I'd like to see 1.6.0 out of the door before the meeting,
preferably at the end of October. Having a pending release hanging
around spoils not only much of the fun of a meeting, it also distracts
attention in the serious moments...

1.6.0svn has lots of new features, there's no need to stuff more in.

I know it is hard to resist temptation, but I wouldn't mind if everybody
went to 'strict crash and regression fixing mode' _now_.

Fully agreed.

Abdel.
