An even simpler solution is a "Collect for output" option like Quark has, which just copies all files needed into a single directory... then just share that directory. Probably a "Zip for output" that puts all files in a single zip would just as convenient without losing any simplicity. The user can then unpack the file just like any other zip with their favorite utility. Additionally, this seems much nicer than not really knowing whether Foo.eps refers to the Foo.eps in the current directory, or embedded in the file, or having lots of popups asking if you want to overwrite this file or that file every time you open an ugly embedded lyx file. In short, if you want a nice easy solution Collect for output is OK*. Unless I am missing something, my pico-vote would be no to "true" embedded LyX files unless someone is willing to polish the UI till it shines. * I have an unfinished attempt at Collect for output lying around somewhere if that helps. -- John C.
