This is not fair. The last time you told me I should release it as "1.6svn-r24066" and that's exactly what I did. It's installed and registered under this name.

That's why the name is not "alpha1" but "1.6svn-r24066".

We also discussed this after my first snapshot release and you said, yes, I am allowed to release them. Now we have alpha1, so why not releasing a Windows version to test it out? Furthermore there are lots of bugfixes since the last release that needed to be tested, for example the Japanese stuff, some installer issues, etc. Also the translators requested such an release to be able to update the docs and the po files. Releasing test builds is in generally necessary to get bug reports as soon as possible. In the LyX 1.5 development cycle this has been proven very helpful. I'm now doing exactly the same.
