this seems to be good sign: > checking for the pdflatex program... > +checking for "pdflatex"... yes please whats the result of : cat ~/.lyx/preferences |grep pdflatex also - what happens if you remove the whole ~/.lyx directory, reconfigure and then launch lyx again? pavel
