I think we should clarify what is a note and what is not a note. To me
a note is something that is not part of the document and that should
not be there in the printed output. By this I mean that it may be
printed in drafts documents, but is supposed to be removed before
final. When I read EmbeddedObjects, I just think that a note a
footnote, a margin note, all these things are the same.

If people begin to use a note instead of a box just because they can
get the fancy color on output, then we have really failed somewhere. I
think like Juergen that the functionality of framing and coloring must
be moved to box.

And it never occurred to you that people just did not see them because
this UI is a failure?
