It looks like it solved the crash both in qt3 and qt4. Disclaimer: This is on a different machine with different qt versions, so the crash could still happen on the other one, but experience tells that this is unlikely. Thanks for the fix! What I do not understand is why it works on windows this way but did not with the old approach. Georg
