4.0.2 is the first version I'd consider usable for the kind of stuff LyX
uses. I personally need a few things that make 4.1.3 sort of a lower
limit, but that's stuff not used in LyX (heavy polygon drawing in using
the raster painter).

Ap[rt form that compiliing Qt is straight-forward with minimal
dependencies on the build environment, i.e. it is accessible for
everybody.

Building LyX is more complicated for that matter.
