Lars, this is certainly a good thing to do, but I'm wondering whether
we could separate the i18n messages in separate areas. For example,
lyx.po would contain messages for LyX kernel, lyx-xforms.po for the
xforms front end, and lyx-layouts.po for the layouts.
It seems to me that this will be needed at least for the GUI parts,
and that it will be more convenient.

Layouts can be written in any language, provided you know that users
of that class know the language...
