I have great confidence in your analysis of the problem, and I'm sure that you have this problem. But I cannot reproduce it in my computer, instead I can tell people with similar computer to mine, that Lubuntu still works. I'm very sorry that this update stops the Ubuntu 14.xx family operating systems from working in your computer. Is it important that someone else can confirm the bug? In that case we must ask people to test it and if applicable, mark 'affects me too' at Launchpad. And if I understand correctly, it is possible to test by running Lubuntu 14.10 live, so no installed system will be destroyed by the test. -o- When it is confirmed that this fix will work to avoid the bug, and if such actions are possible: @ Jack, Can you try to stop this update from xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1 to xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1.2 in LXLE? At least stop it from getting into the 12.04 version! @ Walter, Can you try to reverse the versions from xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1.2), so it goes back to using xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1 in Lubuntu 14.04.x?
