It's always exciting to hear about others who are working on this. Are your team members subscribed to the ubuntu-education mailing list? https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-education It's not hugely active day to day, but folks are around to reply if you have specific questions or want to have discussions. I don't think Canonical has a major interest in leading this, so it's really been a community-driven effort and I'd love to see a more international team in a dialog about it, most of the folks I work with are from US-based non-profits like: http://partimus.org/ (the one I'm part of) http://computereach.com/ (they deploy in Pittsburgh and I went with them to deploy to schools in Ghana) http://www.projectcc.org/ http://reglue.org/ I'd also love to see some professional-looking fliers be developed that can focus on education to give out to schools, but I only have so many hours in the day :) But mostly what I want to stress here is that we don't need to look to Canonical for all the leadership here. These community-driven efforts are just a sampling of what real non-profits are doing today and I've had wonderful experiences sharing knowledge between them. It's part of what I love about Ubuntu, you don't need to wait around for someone else to lead, anyone with passion and some time (I am a volunteer with full time job in addition to my Ubuntu work) can become a leader in our community and we can drive these discussions ourselves. -- Elizabeth Krumbach Joseph || Lyz || pleia2 http://www.princessleia.com -- loco-contacts mailing list loco-contacts@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/loco-contacts
