Yep.. 

Maybe it's a good idea in case of the buggy VIA to bark loudly if a DMA
and non DMA disk are on the same bus ??

I'll have a look at the code and see if I understand is. Golden rule
: Never without coffee, I mix up if () and switch() :-)))
