I've opted for the scripted installation (adsl-setup). Funny that you mention it, but at home I have 2 NICs, one used for the home network (eth0) and the other connected to Samsung's modem (eth1). I left eth1's settings as they where from the prev adsl (pptp) install I had, and it is configured and assigned an IP address at boot, yet everything works as it supposed to, with no problems. adsl-start script isn't modifying the settings of that NIC (i.e: addr, gw, mask and bcast) after the connection it established.
