How recent are your researches into this? Up until a few weeks ago, the above was true for mailgw.netvision.net.il, plus, they allowed an unlimited number of recipients for each message. Indeed, an ideal greenhouse for spammers. Recently, however, they changed schemes, and I know I am no longer able to send messages from work (we are connected to Barak Online) even when I use my home address, which is a valid netvision address. But I am able to send messages from home (where I have a Netvision PPP account) even though netvision appears in neither header nor recipient. Furthermore, they no longer allow you to send a message to an unlimited number of recipients. I am a member of a voluntary organization, and we send occasional messages to our supporters. The head of the Amuta used to just use his Outlook to send the message (using mailgw, he is also a Netvision client). It appears that they don't allow more than 25 recipients in one go. So I think the contradictions we see in this thread are probably due to time lag - some people remember what mailgw *used* to do, and some know what it does *now*.
