Thanks, will do this as soon as I think I need it :-)

Apparently not.

DrakX makes a clear distinction - you choose a keyboard, which also set
your default language. you can also choose additional language packs to be
installed.
Choose English US (_not_ international) for the keyboard and Hebrew in the
additional _Language_ packs and you should have a smooth sailing.
Not to be compared with, but this is also my prefered setup for
hebrew capable WinXX installations. after all - except for word processing
of some kind (be it normal docs or web design) and the occasional email
we almost always type english. so having a default english keyboard is
quite reasonable. I remember that kikbd with KDE1 allowed you to
"remember" the window's "class", meaning - for example - that whenever you
use your word processor the keyboard will automaticly switch to the last
used map for the word processor (assumed hebrew) and whenever you switch
to the konsole, you'll get the US map. I'm sure there's some way to get
that functionality under KDE2.

Not AFAIK. setting the keyboard to Isralian will automaticly select the
hebrew language for installing. I haven't noticed any problems with
installing it that way (though - the only computer I've tried this on was
also the only computer that I upgraded to 8.0 from 7.2, so YMMV).

that seems to still be the correct place. I'll try plaing with the values
there and get back to you sometime.
Oded
