Hellow All,

I wanted to use the Debian ghostscript package (rather than the supplied RH
package) since it is precompiled with the hpdj driver - I need it for the
EconoFast mode on my hpdj 600. (it's really really fast and saves ink
which is important to me when I'm printing allot. there's a huge speed
difference)
so I grabed the .deb files, but alas - kpackage crashes when I try to install
them - probably it doesn't have the debian package management program.
my questions :
1) does it work ? I mean installing a debian package into a RH system
    (5.2 in my case)
and in particular, did anybody in the list do this to gain the EconoFast
mode or you compiled ghost script with the hpdj driver yourself?
I read the instructions on how to compile, way too complicated.
will my print system work ? (please save me the trouble if you tried..)
 2) where can I find the source and compile the debian package manager ? I
seem to find onle *.deb files there.
3) I think that's all.

any help is welcome ...
good night.
gal.
