Yes, if you don't have take the binaries from potato (glibc2.1 based
doen't work with you glibc2.0 system)

The tar.gz with is on the source one tree before the binary-i386. You
can decompress manually the deb with a :
ar x package.deb data.tar.gz && tar xvzf data.tar.gz && rm -f data.tar.gz
