Any flavour of Ubuntu or Debian will do it. I run Xubuntu, and then
just type
sudo apt install frescobaldi
That will fetch and install everything you need.
I am told that the Mac installer will also do everything automatically,
but I do not run Macs so I have not tried it. You should not need to do
a manual download.
