You want a cheap clone of MS Excel, then drop any innovation LO can bring to the office suite realm. Excel-imported LAMBDA function works with LO and works back when saved in XL format. Interoperability is maintained. Just don't write Excel LAMBDA with LO-unique syntax, it will throw error. Ben's implementation works in excel as long as functions are named. To be clear, the topic can be documented in Help page.
