I've seen this suggestion too on other pages, but I find it very cumbersome (slow to do /undo ; I'd have to choose a good hight/width depending on nr of rows/cols to hide - or else if put just 0 then it looks like Hidden and easy to forget about... ) For now, I use this workaround: - use Grouping , not Hiding - before autofil: expand the group - use double-click on the corner, not dragging - collapse the group back Works only whene that double-click works, of course; which is partly why I filed https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167798 .
