Mike, what I suggest is to just start building BLFS using the most recent packages the vendor supplies. If something doesn't work, or you have any questions, write in. Someone will respond (me if needed), and we'll find a solution. Don't wait for a BLFS release, just jump in and start building. Again, if something doesn't work, or you get stalled, write in and let us know. Someone will get you over the hurdle.
