There will probably still be build issues related to gcc, and then header files (usually it's just an extra include required,) at least while the BLFS editors and various upstreams catch up. Typically the latest packages do build (they're just not in BLFS yet,) but if not, there are usually patches available or you can dig through the source repos and cherry pick the commits, for example I had to do this with cyrus- sasl, rxvt-unicode, and a few others.
