First please *this* thread for answers and discussion about the proposal. Now some answers, with no particular order. Second, let's start from the look of the new book. #---------------------------------------------------------------+ a.'Handling Devises' (udev) b.'Boot process' (init schemes, bootscripts, bootmanager, etc) c.'Automounting Devises, Volumes, raid etc...' d.'Partitiong schemes, filesystems, etc' e.'Kernel issues.' #---------------------------------------------------------------+ As you see there is a connection between them. Are you considering the need (because I do have this need) of a central management to take care all of these issues? Hal -> boot-procces -> udev -> kernel. Are you happy with this answer? If you don't, speak right and I will try (although my time is limited) to make it more clear for you. Obviously everyone can share thoughts/ideas here, and also hopes and dreams ... hell why not, we can still dream can't we? :) -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
