Well I don't know anything about that. I've always installed it using the libXvMCW package. You and I are not on the same page here. The library you consistently mention has been installed by X since I can remember. It has never taken a different package other than X. I am speaking of the *wrapper* library. It is different. You used to get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/unichrome Now it ships with Xorg.
