Richard. Some good points and conciderations.
Switzerland, hmmm, that's a funny place. Not spoken to anyone about drug use
over there. It would be nice to get an opinion. They have some draconian
laws over there too. I believe that they impound and then crush your car
(with you bollocks in the glove box) if you even get close to approaching
the speed limit.
<snip> 1. Addicts are a medical issue NOT a legal one.
I can't actually remember the last time I saw someone up for being in
procession only, they have normally done something else and procession is
normally the secondary charge (which incidentally could be dropped in favour
of the higher tariff crime).
<snip> 2. Thieves and gangsters should be dealt with by the legal
system........
Yep.
<snip> 3. the vast majority of users don't become addicts.........,
The problem is the law (and I don't make the rules), I have very strict
guidelines to follow.
<snip> 4. the example of Mephedrone is a case in point........
My own personal opinion is that this highlights what is wrong about the
reporting of events in the press and the type of "tabloid law" that was
created under the previous government.
Cheers
Chris
