I was delighted with our victory - amidst the euphoria I think we need to
calm down. A few observations.
I have said before the first scorer in games involving Leeds is crucial - if
McSheffrey's early shot had gone in instead of hitting the bar it would have
made things "interesting".
Rather worryingly Carver's team selection was pretty much what Blackwell
would have picked - where was Carole and why werent Killa & Lewis dropped?
My main point is that Steve Bruce is clearly a f*ckwit of the highest
calibre. Even watching us on TV he should have known playing us at ER you
pack the midfield and use a bit of pace up front and pick us off. It was all
very entertaining but his decision to throw everything plus the kitchen sink
at us badly misfired. Once we scored we really did look a different team
although defensive failings (Warner, Crainey, Kelly) continued. It really
was end to end for 90 minutes and great entertainment.
Way Carver was talking post match it looks like the job is there for him if
he turns things round in the short-term.
