I think he looks decent - neat tidy intelligent (Barmby / Milner type) player. One of those who looks good in a good team - lost in a poor team. I think there are 2 main problems with playing him; 1) Too similar to Blake - so we have 2 short-arse / luxury players in midfield - which reduces the presence we have in that area of the pitch and leads to Nicholls trying to over-compensate and running around fouling people. 2) In the situation we are in - playing nice football isn't really a priority - and with Thompson injured we're not really good enough to do it. If Wise is insistent on playing Blake in midfield - then i'm afraid i'd leave Howson on the bench at the moment. Then hope to bring him through next season. Beckford scored another great goal for Scunny last night.
Matt Just out of interest what do other listers think of Howson ? To me he has been almost invisible in every game I have seen him , but on the odd occasion he does touch the ball he does show some quality, I can't get my head round what role he has in the team and what kind of player he is meant to be.
