The basic answer to this is that everyone has their price. Given a choice Blackwell would not have sold Hulse, but when the offer was upped to £2.1m it meant they believed the money could be used to get a suitable replacement AND have extra left to fund other purchases.
Im sure if someone had offered £2.1m for Moore we would have sold him and not Hulse! Im sure Tottenham selling Carrick was a 'master stroke of genius' too. At all levels in the game sometimes first choice players are sold, its a fact of footballing life, and something that you shouldnt need explaining. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 03 August 2006 13:25 To: [email protected] Subject: [LU] RE: Leedslist digest, Vol 1 #365 - 10 msgs >>>Horsefield * And that nicely plugs the gap up front for us.<<< The gap we created by selling one of out best/better players? I suppose this is another KB master stroke of genius. No doubt we're tracking a 'better' player and this is a stop gap measure... I don't think he's that bad, for the record. Just that it's a bit odd and what direction are we headed in this season? _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
