Has a romantic appeal, but he is really too injury prone these days. I read Charlton have released Chris Perry. Not sure if his wage demands would be prohibitive, but he could definitely do a good job for us. The Blackwell debate has degenerated now and there isn't really anything new to add. Let's move on from that one. For what it's worth I'm pro-Owen. As Blackwell enthusiasts will tell you, you should judge a man on his attainments and his ability to deliver what he promises. Owen consistently scores goals at international level and has done throughout his career. His control may be iffy, his overall contribution may be poor at times, but he scores, and international defenders fear playing him. They don't fear playing Defoe. There's an awful lot to be said for thinking about who your opposition would least like to be facing, and picking those people. ******* This message and any attachment are confidential and may be privileged or otherwise protected from disclosure.
