Before he broke his foot he was looking very sharp and scoring at will for the barcodes. He is the best we have when he is on that form, I just hope he can regain his form by the latter stages.
I agree he isn't effective when he isn't fit, but he is only going to get match fit by playing games. If we have any serious ambitions for this competition we need Owen at his best, so he has to play.
