I'm not sure any of our players cost much more than £1m (£1.15m for Cresswell?). Blackwell has spent a lot more than most, but I've written before that when you take into account the number of free signings he's made the average price is about £300k per player. he's spent a lot on players because he's had to sign a lot of players. Of course, we could have stuck with Jermaine Wright ... :) I'm not sure that Blackwell regards his players as the best there are, just the best he could get. We moan about Crainey and harding, but he tried to sign Micky Gray, but we couldn't afford his wages. Ditto Speed and Flitcroft. He's tried to sign Michael Brown and Robert Huth on loan, but couldn't. By and large his signings have been good. Not all of them, but the majority. Maybe better players will be available to us this summer after getting to the play off final (better than anyone predicted last August - FACT!). I hope so Rich, but as you told me when you said we'd only finish mid table this season and I said we'd make the play offs: "we'll see".
