Hmmm. I don't know if this is relevant, but I have used v4.4 on my
Netgear WNDR4300 for quite some time now. I took the plunge with
OpenWrt r49195 (modified target/linux/ar71xx/Makefile to use 4.4). I'm
currently running LEDE r170 on this device with no apparent issues.
